Ah Summer, I really do love you. Everyone seems to be in a better mood when the sunshine is out, the days are longer, you can wear your pretty summer dresses. And of course it's summer garden party season! What's better than being outside with your friends eating BBQ food and drinking cocktails?! (Mine is always a cosmopolitan.)

This outfit is actually one that I wore to my mum's 50th birthday BBQ which we had out in our garden. I wasn't planning on buying a new outfit for this occasion (seeing as I already own 101 dresses in my wardrobe.) But as a typical blogger/any girl who loves fashion. I was scrolling through the ASOS app, one of my favourite ways to past time and can across this little beauty which was in the sale from £35 to £17.50. (It's still available to buy here.) When it comes to sales shopping I much prefer to do this online, it was only the other day myself and my friend went shopping in Westfield and I just totally ignored the sales rails. I hate how messy they look and 99.9% of the time I do not want to make the effort to look through them. However it's so much easier and stress free to look at sales items online. I find the ASOS app also so easy to search for what you want, I normally opt for petite range then whichever category of clothing I'm looking for. Usually they will show items that are both full priced and in the sale.

One of my favourite things about shopping on the high street (or ASOS in this case) is that you can buy so many affordable pieces of clothing without breaking the bank. People are always shocked when I say the prices of some of my clothes and think some of them are more expensive than they are. My heels were another sales purchase from Dune late last year...these where around £15. A total steal and you can never go wrong with a black pair of heels every girl needs a pair in their wardrobes!

Back to where I started this post summer garden parties...I always like to wear dresses when the sun is out.  I'd say my style is a mixture of everything...I love bold plain colours, prints, tend-lead pieces, pieces that are not necessarily in 'fashion.' But this dress definitely has my name written all over it. It's my favourite colour and has the off the shoulder detail which is another favourite of mine this SS17 following on from last year. It shows off a little bit of your body but not too much at all making it still very suitable for a family party.

I hope you enjoyed this post, have you got any summer garden parties coming up?

Love
Nicole

  1. It was fate to come here at this place. It really paves the way for me to want to go out more. I was fortunate enough to have seen these excellent venues in NYC with my friends. The entire space feel warm and intimate.
