Important Life Lessons I've Learnt

I know I'm only 22 and I have many years ahead of me and new lessons to learn and experiences to be had which will continue to shape the person I am. However I feel that from both the highs and lows in my life (I've had a fair share of both - but hasn't everyone?!) I've learnt some really important lessons. Some of which I need to remind myself at times.

1. Life is far to short. There are so many adventures and memories to be made. I never want to get to an age and regret not having fun and doing what I love.

2. Friends and Family are everything and make sure you keep the good ones close by. When your going through a bad time they will be the ones to help you bounce back up again and re-assure you that everything will be ok. Most of the time these are the people who know you best so will give you the best advise. My friends and family have been my rock recently. And it has been amazing to know I've always got people I can meet up with /call or Whatsapp whenever I've really needed it. It can be easy to take these people for granted at times but the best people in your life will always be there to have fun with, support and be happy for your successes and also be there as a shoulder to cry on in your low moments.

3. Make the most of being young and carefree, this is something that I'm really trying to do at the moment. I have no huge commitments in my life right now like a mortgage or children. So I'm trying to say yes to all the adventures I can go on like weekends and holidays. Before I have to spend more money on less exciting things like a new washing machine!

4. Do not be so hard on yourself, it's so easy in life to compare yourself to others or put yourself down for what you have not yet achieved, rather than being proud of how far you have come and what you have already achieved. I know this is easier said than done! I have a long list of things I want to do and achieve in my life but I also have a huge list of things I've already done which I do not give myself enough credit for at times.

5. Make some time for yourself, I'm an independent person and as much as I love to surround myself with my friends and family I also like time to myself to recharge my batteries. My favourite thing to do is have a night in by myself catching up on my favourite TV shows like Love Island,  watching YouTube videos, having a bath (with a Lush bath bomb and face mask of course), reading books and painting my nails.

6. Exercise will always make you feel better...stop putting off your workout and just do it! I am the worlds worst at being lazy sometimes when it comes to working out and making up the most rubbish excuses to get out of my keep fit classes. However I actually really enjoy working out and feel x100 better about myself after. It's always the thought of it that is worse than actually doing it!

7. Be spontaneous...I'm a huge planner I like to have my dairy filled with lots of fun things to look forward to and this is always great especially if you are having a bad time and need something good to keep yourself going. However some of my favourite memories have been spontaneous/last minute plans.

8. Appreciate the little things in life. Some things can easily go unnoticed, but it's important to appreciate everything you have in life whether that's the big or small things. Sometimes it's those small things that really make a difference.

9. Travel as often as you can, I know this can not always be the way. (If only travelling did not cost as much money.) But when you can, explore new places and see new things. For the last few years I've visited at least one and sometimes two new places I've never been to before and I want to try and continue to do this for as long as I can. And travel does not just have to be abroad it can be in the UK too - there are far to many places I've not visited here in my own country.

10. 'Everyday may not be good, but there is something good in everyday.' - Always remind yourself of this quote!

Now on to my outfit...I saw this jacket a few times on Instagram and instantly fell in love with it. I love the mixture of colours with the embroidered details. And the light weight material makes this just so perfect in the summer especially as we have some chilly days in the UK. For me this is the perfect mix of smart/casual. I wore this outfit on a day out I had a few weeks ago now in London with my friend (post coming soon so keep your eyes peeled.) and I knew I wanted to bring my camera out to take some photos, so I used my Zara tote style bag which I picked up last year in the sale for around £10. I wear a lot of blue so this bag goes with so many different outfits in my wardrobe. And the size is just perfect for those days that you need to carry lots of things.

Hope you enjoyed this post, I've read quite a few more personal and lifestyle posts recently and found that other peoples advice has really helped me with my own life. So I though it would be a good idea to share my own.
