I think it's so important to every 4/5 months to have a wardrobe detox. Or you can end up having an overflowing wardrobe and have no idea what you have/don't have! (And trust me I've been that person) Here are a few tips to help you have a wardrobe detox.

1. Find someone to help you, for me this is always my mum. (I don't know what I'd do without her) She is honest and will give me good advise on what I should and shouldn't keep. Also she sees me every day (and does my washing!) so she is well aware of what clothes I get the most use out of and what ones I don't. So I would recommend that you get someone who knows you and your style well to help you out. And the whole process will feel a lot less daunting.

2. Take ALL your clothes out of your wardrobe (in sections), then lay them on your bed so you can go through each item one by one and you can clearly see what you have. Then set up 3 piles a keep, rubbish, charity shop/selling.

3. Ask yourself these questions, have I worn these items in the past few months? (obviously some items are seasonal so you need to consider if you have go lots of wear out of them in the last appropriate season.) Can I see myself wearing these again? And are these wardrobe staples that I can wear for a range of different outfits?

4. Don't keep items just in case, it's so easy not to get rid of things just in case you will use them again. But chances are if you have not worn an item in months you will be unlikely to wear it again.

5. Do not rush make decisions carefully, make sure you really think about what you are giving to the charity shop or selling before you do so. Look to see if an item is a wardrobe staple, please don't be that girl that ends up going back to the charity shop to try and find a cardigan she took there a week ago. (Yep, that was me, and sad times as it wasn't in the charity shop so I couldn't re-buy my lovely cardigan!)

6. Organise your wardrobe, after you have had your wardrobe clear out. Put your clothes back in an organised manor. I like to have my wardrobe colour coded that way I find it super easy to find the items I want to wear. This makes life 100% easier, especially when you are running late in the mornings.

7. Start adding new pieces, once you have de-cluttered your wardrobe you will have a much clearer idea of what you have and what your wardrobe is missing out on. That way you will get a better idea of what you need to buy.

8. Work out what your style is, this is important when you are going to add new pieces to your wardrobe so you know you are investing your well earned money in the right things. There is no point in spending money on a pair of heels if your a girl who much prefers to wear flats. Make sure you go for styles that are 'you' don't feel you need to following the latest trends and what everyone else is wearing.

9. No.1 rule when shopping for new clothes, Quality vs Quantity. Make sure you are buying clothes are you know will last you for a long period of time. There is no point spending loads of money on cheap clothes that will fall apart within weeks. Put all your money together see what you really need and just buy a few things at a time. Plus this way you will save money in the long run, have better clothes and more space in your wardrobe so you can see what you actually have!

10. Have fun and fall in love with your wardrobe, I love getting up every morning and putting together an outfit. The worst thing would be to wake up and feel down about the clothes that are you in wardrobe and not feel good in what you are wearing.

I hope you enjoyed today's post, I had good fun writing it....before Spring starts I think that I will have a little wardrobe detox! I can assure you, it will make you feel 100% better about yourself after.

Love
