Becoming a freelancer

Coat Zara | Jeans Topshop | Shoes Kurt Geiger | Top Topshop

I talked a little bit about being a freelancer in my 2017 goals post here, since finishing university in the Summer I found it extremely hard to find a graduate job. During the late Summer I got myself an internship at a small independent fashion brand. I love working for small brands as its very satisfying seeing the brand grow stronger and stronger over time. I'm now working for the brand as a freelance social media and digital marketing assistant. Since my first year at London College of Fashion, I knew that social media and digital marketing was the route that I wanted to go down. I love this side of any projects, plus writing my own fashion blog gave me some extremely valuable skills needed for this kind of work.

I've not yet gone full-time with my freelance work as I do not yet have enough work to live off, so I am still at my part time retail job. However I do hope that during 2017, I will build up some more clients in order to be able to take this little business venture of mine full time! A new year always excites me as you have a whole year ahead of you to work hard, have lots of adventures and add another chapter in your life. I really hope that this year is an exciting one for me. I'm feeling really motivated and feel like all my hard work will pay off in the end and I'll be doing a job I love full time (plus it will be my own business which is something I've always been very passionate about!)

I know that freelance work won't always be easy and I'll have my fair share of ups and downs but if it's something I feel very passionate about I feel like it's about time I get out there and try my best. Life is all about taking risks and working hard! I don't know about you guys but I want to be my own Girl Boss! Maybe I'll write a post in six months time a little review on what my life is like as a freelancer.

You if need some digital marketing or social media work or know anyone who does than please let me know!

Hope you all enjoyed this post!
