New York is my happy place, words can not describe how much I love this city! Although it's crazy busy and so much is going on, there is something about it that makes me feel so calm and relaxed. I could really see myself living in New York. You can read my post all about my trip here, and shopping tips here! (Because let's face it, you can not go to the Big Apple and not go shopping. That is near enough impossible for me anyway!)

One of my favourite things to do in New York, is to take a walk around Central Park. And there could not be a better place to take outfit photos. Writing this post from my bedroom now, is giving me serious holiday blues and making me want to book a trip back asap. Central Park is huge and I always find it amazing walking around spotting places where films and TV programs have been shoot. We made the most of being in Central Park and got a tour on a rickshaw. Which was great fun and we got to learn so much about the park and it's surroundings. There is also horse and carriage rides, myself and my mum did this on my last trip and I really enjoyed that too. Seeing as this time round when I went it was during the festive period I also made the most of the Ice Skating rick. Which was great especially as we went during the day time before the Christmas holiday officially started so it was nice and quite on the rink!

I have been to New York twice now, and both times it was not as cold as I expected. At one point during my trip I could have walked around with no coat on. It can sometimes be difficult to know what to pack on a city break. I always like to be comfortable as city breaks include lots of walking yet  still look stylish.

My Whistles shirt is the perfect mix of comfort and style, I only ever buy items from Whistles that I think I will get lots of wear out of. Because their prices are quite high. I saw Anna from The Anna Edit wear this a couple of years ago and as soon as I saw it, I knew it one of those items that I just needed in my life without any further thought. Still a couple of years on I'm so pleased with this purchase. I teamed this with my much loved Topshop jeans. (Anyone who is a regular reader will know how much I love these.) As well as my converse, I love love love my all white leather converse. However it was not until I got home that I realised I should probably invest in a new pair as they are getting a little worn now to say the least. But these were very comfortable to walk around New York in. (And I tell you, it's essential on a city break to wear comfortable shoes!)

Before I went away, I treated myself to a new beanie hat this is becoming a little tradition of mine each Winter. I got this one from Oasis via ASOS, and was pleasantly surprised when I saw I had £10 worth of ASOS vouchers to spend which I had no idea I had! This unfortunately is now out of stock on the website. However there are lots of similar ones available across the high street.

This coat has been featured on my blog a few times now, most recently in my high street post here. Again, something that I seem to buy every Winter. I'm seriously running out of space to store my coats in my wardrobe so I've resulted in keeping most of them in the spare room. (I can't say my mum is best pleased about this!) I so need a walk in wardrobe in my life then I will no longer have these problems!

I hope you all enjoyed this post...I can't wait for my next city break trip which is Copenhagen in February!
