2017 Goals

Happy New Year everyone! I can't believe 2017 is already here. This post is a week later than expected, however I decided to take a week off posting last week so I could get lot of blog planning done. And I've got lots of great ideas and can't wait to get started with creating lots of posts over the next year.  2016 was a really good year for me I travelled to some new places as well as an old favourite (New York), graduated from London College of Fashion, with a Fashion Marketing and Promotion degree and got asked to be a bridesmaid! But for today's post I wanted to write a few goals that I have for 2017. There will probably be quite a few posts like these over the next couple of weeks on peoples blogs. But I do think that it is really important to reflect over the past year and set yourself some goals to work towards for the upcoming year.

1. The first one is probably my biggest and most exciting goal, but this year I would love to go full-time with my freelance work. Some of you may not already know but I graduated from university in the Summer and I've really struggled to find a job. So I started doing some social media and digital marketing freelance work at the end of last year for a independent fashion brand and so far I'm loving it. It's not enough hours for me to leave my part time retail job, however I'm going to be promoting my work a lot more over the new year and hopefully I will be able to build up enough clients to do this full time as this really is a dream job for me. Over the next couple of weeks I'll talk more about this on my blog and I'll add a page showing what services I offer.

2. Work on my fitness, I have to say 2016 was a good year for me fitness wise. Although I did not do half as much fitness as I could have done and my eating wasn't too good towards the end of the year. But I did really prove to myself that I can push myself when it comes to exercise. I started going to boxfit classes once a week and I love them! Plus I go with my mum and friends so it always makes you feel more motivated when there are people you know with you. I also started doing work outs from Lucy's videos (you must check them out if you haven't already). Lucy is such a lovely girl and proves to you that you can do fitness anywhere without the price tag of going to the gym.
I'm just really bad at keeping to a fitness routine when my life gets busy, so this week I'm going to write myself a weekly plan that I will stick to in order to get fitter. Because when I do work out a lot I feel 100% better within myself plus I really enjoy doing it.

3. Learn some new skills, this year I want to try and book myself on to some workshop/classes to learn some new skills. The top on my list is a modern calligraphy class, I seen they have a few in London and it would be amazing to be able to write in a fancy handwriting. This would be so useful when writing cards or doing creative work. I would also love to go on a photography class, I've got two amazing cameras however I feel like I do not use them to their full potential as I do not know how to use all of their features. Photography is something I have grown to love and appreciate a lot more the older I get, so I would love to be able to take some better photographs.

4. Travel more, I think this is a goal that I will have every year for the rest of my life. Over the past few years visiting new places has become a really important part of my life. I'm extremely happy with the places I got to visit in 2016. And I can't wait to go on some more trips in 2017 that includes visiting more of America and planning a girls weekend away with my best friend.

5. Having more me time. Sometimes I get so busy socialising with people and doing work that I forget to have some time for myself to relax. I want to try and set aside some time each week to do things that I really enjoy, like taking a lush bath (I got so many products for Christmas that I have enough to last me a whole year!) and reading because this is something I have got more in to as I've got older. My next book on my reading list is How I Grew Up Online by Emma Gannon.

Hope you enjoyed this post, I'm super excited to write lots more content in 2017. Wishing you all a very Happy New Year.
