Coat Topshop | Shirt Primark | Boots Primark | Bag River Island | Jeans Topshop

Don't get me wrong I love my designer treats (you can check out my latest Burberry purchase here) but I'm a true high street girl at heart. And in today's post I wanted to talk to you about why I love the high street.

I think the best place to start would be Primark, a store I have a love/hate relationship with. I mean going to the Oxford Circus store during peak times is far from a pleasant experience. However it is still well worth the visit as you can pick up some many amazing gems that would be much more expensive else where. I think of Primark as the place to buy the latest trends that I may not like in a years time, basics (because who needs to spend more than a couple of pounds on black tights and socks!) as well as some wardrobe staple items that I can see myself loving for a very long time.

My latest Primark purchases are both featured in this blog post, and I was highly surprised when I picked these up as I think they look like they came from Zara. And that is this wonderful stripe blue and star shirt (because I really needed another stripe item in my wardrobe!) and these beautiful navy boots. I just adore the glittery details. I don't normally buy cheap shoes as find that they are likely to fall apart very quickly. However I am pleased to say I have had Primark boots before and they were very long lasting and I was really sad when they started to fall apart. (Does anyone else ever regret not buying two of something, so when they fall apart you have a replacement!)

On to jeans, I've spoken about jeans many times before on my blog. I'm short and therefore really really struggle to find a good quality pair of jeans that fit well. That's before I discovered the Topshop collection. I have been buying jeans from there for about 5 years now and I've never looked back. My favourites are Leigh and Jamie. If you live in or around London in my experience the Westfield White City store stock the best range and selection of jeans. I think I paid around the £40 mark for my last pair of jeans from Topshop. Following on from this I love love love this Topshop coat which I managed to pick up in the Black Friday sale last year. I originally wanted this in black, however quickly changed my mind when I saw it in navy. If you haven't guessed already I adore wearing navy, I think it's such an easy and 'safe' colour to wear. I've picked up a couple of coats from Topshop before, and I'm currently eyeing up a leather jacket.

Another thing I love about the high street is that you can pick up so many beautiful statement items, I have to say the high street has really upped their game over the last few years. Say hello to my River Island glittery bag!! I adore this bag and it add's the perfect finishing touch to this outfit. Some people shy away from statement accessories and worry that they won't go with many outfits. However you will be surprised at just how many things I've managed to team this with! Keep you eyes peeled I have a feeling this bag will pop up a lot on my blog over the next few weeks!

It just goes to show you can dress well, have fun and experience with fashion using the good old British High Street. Although designer items are nice (& I have a long dream wish list!) you can put together some amazing outfits that don't cost you £100's!

Hope you enjoyed this post, what is your favourite high street shop?

Love
Nicole
