Dress Topshop | Shoes Oasis | Bag Aspirnal of London

Work, something that can be a little difficult to plan outfits for sometimes. So today I decided to sit down and write a post about the things I like to wear to work and hopefully it will inspire you to come up with new work outfit ideas.

Luckily for me I want to have a career in fashion, which pretty much means I can wear what I like (within reason). Meaning I can have a more toned down casual look and wear jeans etc. However I know this isn't the case for every industry. At the moment I work in retail within Jewellery and my dress code is smart. But I don't let this stop me from wearing clothes I really love. I have a rule when buying clothes for work, I make sure I will also wear these items outside of work too. As I don't see the point in spending loads of £££ on clothes I don't really love but just have them for work. Take suit style outfits as an example something that I personally don't like so I avoid these for other options that I feel more comfortable in.

The above outfit is something that I would happily wear to work on a regular basis. I brought this dress in Topshop a couple of years ago from their Autumn/Winter collection but it has lasted me well! (considering how many times I've worn it!) This dress was a little pricey for Topshop being around £70, however the quality and material is worth the price tag. I actually have another one very smilier from their Spring/Summer collection.

This dress is smart but in my eyes also super stylish, I love the stripe print on it, anyone who reads my blog on a regular basis will know I love stripes! Just so easy and effortless to wear. To go with this dress I've teamed it with a pair of heels from Oasis which I picked up in the sale last year. These heels are pretty small but if your like me and not a huge heels lover these are perfect for you as they are not too high and super comfortable to walk in.

To finish the outfit off, I used my Aspirnal of London handbag. When I picked this up I was worried I wouldn't get lots of use out of it due to the colour but luckily I had nothing to worry about as this goes with so many clothes in my wardrobe. I always think it's a good idea to have a smart looking handbag even if you can wear casual clothes to work as it just adds a nice finishing touch to any outfit.

Hope you liked this post today, what do you normally wear to work?

Love
