Jeans Jack Wills | Blouse Topshop | Coat Burberry

As much as I adore Summer I am glad that September is here. Because that means we can start to wear our Autumn clothes and that is my favourite season of the year. I love the cosy outfits, coats and jackets and in general I just prefer Autumn/Winter clothing.

Today's post is all about dressing for this transitional period which I think can be quite difficult to dress for. Although September is here the weather can still be quite nice some days then others cold again. (Typical when you live in the UK!)

Above is my perfect transitional outfit. I'll start with the outerwear (and my favourite item of all time) it's always good to have a light weight coat in your wardrobe and a colour that will go with pretty much everything. That is where my Burberry Trench Coat comes in very handy. I got this for my 21st birthday back in February and have worn it loads since. It was a great investment piece as I know I will be wearing it for years to come. Prior to getting a Burberry trench coat, I got a similar colour trench style coat from ASOS. There is a great selection on the high street which are much more affordable. One of the best elements of this coat is that it is fully waterproof, perfect when it often likes to pour down with rain in the UK. I also love how you can wear a trench coat with both a smart and casual outfit.

Next item is my trusty Topshop shirt which I have had for about three years now. Again another item I've had so much wear out of. This looks great teamed with a pair of jeans, like I've done above for a smart/casual look. This item is also lightweight however with the long sleeves keeps you warm when the temperature starts to dip.

On to my final item, my Clarks boots. A shop I would never dream of buying shoes or boots from. However last year I saw Elle from Elle Next Door rock these boots and I loved them! Was planning all the outfit ideas in my head with them and knew they just had to be mine. I have a little obsession to anything metallic these days. I just think it adds a special touch to any outfit.

Hope you enjoyed this post! What are you favourite transitional outfit items?
