Dress Oasis | Shoes Office

Don't you just love those days that turn into spontaneous shopping trips?! I know I do, a few weeks ago myself and my mum went to London for the day as I treated her to afternoon tea at Sketch for her birthday which you can read all about here. (You must go there if you haven't been already!) After we went on a little shopping trip and for a few cocktails of course. (Don't you just love 2-4-1!) I picked up a couple of things in Oasis, a shop that I've been loving recently. I fell in love with this dress as soon as I saw in and I didn't need much convincing to purchase it. What I like most about this dress is that you can wear it both during the Summer and Winter time. Making it perfect for the transitional season we are having at the moment. I also picked up a lovely top in the summer sale from Oasis featured here

I wore this outfit during the daytime but think it would be perfect at night teamed with a black leather jacket and some heels. And during the day for the winter I would opt for tights and a pair of ankle boots. This dress ticks all the boxes for me and is a great all rounder. I love buying items I know I will get so much wear out of because I can style them for different occasions and different seasons too.

Talking of spontaneous shopping trips I wanted to add a few shopping tips to this blog post! As at the moment I'm taking a different approach when buying new clothes.

1. Make sure you are going to get a LOT of wear out of it! In this case I can wear this dress in both the summer and winter which is a great bonus. And I just have this feeling that I know I'll wear it to so many different occasions.

2. Look at the price tag, is it worth it?!! There are so many nice things that I see in store which are overly priced and I don't see the point in buying. If it's an investment piece like a designer handbag that you know will last you for years then great! But if its an on trend piece your not sure is worth spending lots of your hard earned cash on why not get a similar/cheaper version in Primark!

3. It's always a good idea to think about whether you have things in your wardrobe that will go with your new purchases or if you need to buy extra clothing/shoes/accessories to go with it.

4. Buy what you love! This is my new rule, before I would buy lots of clothes. But now I've really limited it down to the things I really love and this makes the purchases more exciting.

5. Make sure you have great wardrobe staples that can take you from season to season then build the rest of your wardrobe around this! Staple pieces are essential, I adore my leather jacket, denim jeans etc. Items that are no by means 'extra special'  but go with so many different things to creative some really stylish outfits!

Hope you enjoyed this post!

Love
