Charlie and The Chocolate Factory Afternoon Tea

Last week myself, my mum and nan went for Charlie and The Chocolate Factory Afternoon inspired tea at the One Aldwych hotel in Covent Garden, London. I wasn't too sure what to expect from a themed afternoon tea. But boy were we in for a treat! To start we had traditional sandwiches, which I am slightly fussy about. However they catered for everyones individual needs and made sandwiches that I would like rather than the ones that where on the menu. I had ham and salmon which were delicious. They then came around and offered us cocktails or tea, and I opted for a cocktail! Which was presented in a really cool tea pot! (I get way too excited about presentation!) The cocktail was called cocktail Charlie which included whisky mixed with luxardo cherry sangue morlacco, chocolate bitters, grapefruit juice and cherry syrup. Alongside some champagne. This tasted amazing.

After our sandwiches we got given a selection of sweet treats, which included
Chocolate eggs
Chocolate milkshake
Cake pops
Candy floss

It's safe to say we left feeling very full, the food was lovely! And overall was such a fantastic experience and an ideal girls afternoon. The staff were also very friendly and the hotel had their Christmas decorations up which made the afternoon more festive! I love afternoon tea and think the next one I want to try out is the fashionista at the Berkeley.

Hope you enjoyed this post! Have you been for afternoon tea recently?
