Dress Mod Dolly | Shoes Shoeaholics

Seeing as Autumn has officially made an appearance in the UK, I'm switching my summer dresses for more cosy wear that will get me through the colder months that are ahead of us. Lately I've enjoyed shopping at independent brands, there is something satisfying about buying from small/independent fashion designers. You get to wear a garment that is slightly different from what's offered on the high street, (I don't like buying something then seeing every other person in the street wearing it, which happens a lot when you buy from large high street multiples.) After working at Mod Dolly over the summer I began to learn and understand how much hard work goes in to running a independent fashion businesses. And I hope that one day I'll have my own fashion company that I can look back on in the future and be proud of.

Amy let me select an item from her AW15 collection before I left, and I decided to go for the Amy dress. In my eye's it's everything that I look for in a winter dress. A classic print, soft material, and something that I can wear during the daytime. I also love how this dress is oversized, I find these so comfortable to wear.

For the look above I've teamed the dress with a pair of casual Kurt Geiger chelsea boots (another purchase from Shoeaholics I seriously need to stop browsing their website, it always ends in multiple purchases oops!) and a pair of black tights. I would normally style this with a leather jacket or a long navy coat. However the day I took these photos was really sunny, so neither of them were needed.

Do you like this look? Do you regularly shop at independent brands?

Love
Nicole
